GDS 108 Design Principles

(Reesha H. Visit Fort Wayne Indiana, pg 7) This image represents Mardi Gras. It is filled purple, gold, and green. The colors represent symbols: purple is justice, green is faith, gold is power. Mardi Gras is a holiday where they eat fatter foods than normal because giving things up for lent. Gold is the stronger color because it gives people the power to give up certain things for lent and keep to that and not break it. 

( Creative Brain , Crystal Groh. May 16, 2016) I am reading a book in my reading class called brain on fire, so our main discussions is how the brain works. I love this image because it gives the creative side of the brain. With all the colors coming off at the top is like a reference to a creative mind and what goes through a creative persons mind with all of the colors. You can even see the little outlines and details on the brain to give it more value. 

( Analogous Colors From Nature , Anonymous. 2016) I like this analogous color scheme because it shows all shades of red, orange, and yellow. It all blends in together to make a color coated flower. The pedals in the bottom fade into the dark background which is interesting because the black is not really an analogous color, but it still works.
